Today we transformed a free write about our 'happy place' to a poem by identifying parts of speech and reusing them. This is a great way to get reluctant writers into poetry. My own reluctant poet offering below:
The
wanting of the lost,
Wanting
to be lost -
In
a labyrinth of good intentions,
Intentional
obscurity -
Can
I speak
Give
directions (directives) to those
Who
are not as anxious as me
as
angry as me
as
young as me
as
old as me
Safety
in obscurity
“A
coping mechanism”
labeled
from the armchair
Thrills
in yelling
I
have a voice
I
might be lost (it might be lost)
But
I will not silence me
